Clinical Supervision and Consultation for Fully Licensed Mental Health Professionals

I have been in the counseling profession for 17 years and have worked in medical, community, and school -based settings treating teens, their families and adults facing a wide array of mental health and social challenges.  Over 7 of those years have been in private practice.  One of the most important keys to sustaining this career has been seeking clinical supervision.  Supervision in my practice has fostered resiliency, helped to make ethical decisions in difficult situations, and created lasting sustainability.  Most importantly it has removed the isolation unique to the profession and provided a sense of support and long term empowerment.

I have experience facilitating both formal and informal peer supervision groups, have trained mental health professionals through teaching psychology and adventure therapy at the collegiate level, and completed advanced training in direct Clinical Supervision. I work with Psychologists, LCSW’s, LCPC’s, LCMHC”s and LMFT’s who are fully or conditionally licensed in private, group or clinical settings.

Philosophy and Approach

My supervision philosophy is to help clinicians and mental health professionals feel confident in clinical delivery and decision making and foster resiliency to their practice.  I approach supervisees with strengths-based attention to personal/professional skill, enhancement of clinical vigor, attention to ethics, and an overarching focus on burnout prevention and career sustainability.

Throughout the supervision process your goals will be defined and supported on a consistent and evaluative basis. I use Dr. Janine Bernard’s Discrimination Model of supervision.  In this model I serve supervisees as a teacher, sounding board, and consultant.  My role is to help professionals explore their counseling performance cognitively, with attention towards professional and ethical behavior, and personal awareness. Also important, is helping supervisees develop the self-care skills to become a resilient and sustainable practitioner.

I am here to support you as a resilient practitioner.  I can be contacted at the information below for details and contractual information.
